Thank you for showing a interest in the Carmarthen Cougars Roller Hockey Club.ON behalf of everone at C/C we would like to welcome you to the club and at the same time take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about ourselves nad Inline Puck Hockey
The club was formed in September 1999 and our aim is to provide the opportunity for boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 21 year old to take part in and enjoy the sport of Inline Puck Hockey
Our practice session are every saturday u6s to 14s 1pm to 3pm 14s to 21s 3pm to 5pm
As parents ourselves we understand the problems encountered by children joining a new club for the first time, and we are determined to encourage and help

Owen Price Sports Fund

FOR THE BENEFIT OF PLAYERS, COACHES AND TEAMS

The Owen Price Sports Fund has been set up in memory of Owen who passed away on the 5/6/2006 aged 17. Owen had played roller hockey from the age of 6 starting with Abergavenny then HOV Hotshots, Howardians , Pontypool and Wales Super league teams . He also played ice hockey with the Cardiff Devils u16 and u19 teams. Owen loved to coach as well, helping coach the younger age groups and in 2006 training the South Wales u12 team.

The fund is to help purchase kit for people to play sports, coaching courses and for teams to be able to afford equipment

SPORTS FUND WALK

September 24th 2006

To walk to the top of Pen-y-Fan Mountain

£10 to do the walk or by sponsorship

To start from the Story Arms On the A470 Brecon to Merthyr Rd at 10 am

Colin and Hayley would like to thank everyone who took part in the sponsored walk on Sunday 24/9/06 even though the weather was not the best, being quite wet and windy especially at the top of the mountain. 86 people actually did the walk with £ 625.00 raised from collections on the day but with many having sponsorship as well the total could be much higher.

We would also like to thank all those that stayed at the bottom to sign people on and off the mountain.

A special thanks to Glynn and Cheryl Leek for organising the day, Alistair Hishelwood for making the memorial stone and all those that helped to carry it.

Total raised for the day so far and still rising is
£ 2117.50

The Owen Price Sports Fund Would like to thank Gabrielle Browne for the donation of
£22.60 to the fund raised by a bake sale in college.

£220.00 raised on the league presentation night

The dates for the Lewis Fullwood & Owen Price Tournaments have been announced and will take place at Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre in May.

Saturday 26th May (U10, u12 & u14)

THE OWEN PRICE TOURNAMENT

Sunday 27th May (U16, u18 & u21)

The Pontypool & Caerphilly Clubs will be organising the Tournaments and the proceeds will be shared between the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of Wales and the Owen Price Sports Fund.

Qualified Coaches

URGENT ~ Deadline for reply is 30th November 2006

The deadline for the BIPHA's current qualified coaches to receive automatic recognition
of their qualification by the National Coaching Foundation is approaching.

Please note: At this stage only EIHA coaches will get automatic recognition, we are working closely
with the BRSF and National Coaching Foundation to gain recognition for coaches with other qualifications.

As a matter of urgency, can all BIPHA registered clubs complete the
Qualified Coaches form (xls. file)
and return it to the National Secretary.

Clubs must list all coaches and their current qualification.

Also list all coaches who do not currently hold a qualification, this will assist the BIPHA
in arranging of future courses.

Cardiff Capitals currently have teams at 5 age groups, U12's, U14's, U16's, U18's and U21's.
The Under 12's Teams is a merged team with Caerphilly Under 12's making the Caerphilly Capitals.

TRAINING TIMES :

12's & 14's
Saturday 9 am - 10 am - Llanishen Leisure Centre
Sunday 9 am - 10 am - Caerphilly Leisure Centre
16's & 18's
Saturday 10 am - 11 am - Llanishen Leisure Centre
All Older Age Groups
Monday 9 pm - 10 pm - Caerphilly Leisure Centre

We are currently looking for players at all age groups to keep all teams running over the coming seasons.

With luck next year we will also be able to field a senior team.

Pen-yr Heol Leisure Centre Swansea on Friday evenings 18.00 - 22.00hrs

Borne out of Treboeth Allstars and Gowerton Gamblers both founder members of the Swansea Roller Hockey League 1997 and later the South West Inline Puck Hockey League under the BIPHA code. The club has over 60 members.

Several club members have played representative hockey at regional, national and international level. Some of these have been instrumental in promoting the Swansea schools inline hockey programme in primary schools last year.

Swansea also supports the University Inline Hockey squad who finished second in the University Nationals in 2005.

PONTYPOOL SKATER HOCKEY CLUB HAS BEEN AWARDED REGISTERED ACTIVITY CENTRE STATUS WITHIN THE CHILDRENS UNIVERSITY OF WALES The Children's University in Wales awards credits to young people from 5 to 19 who attend activities outside normal school hours. Working closely with parents, schools and communities, the Children's University aims to provide a broad framework within which each student can reach their maximum potential in whatever areas of learning they desire. Awards are based on the amount of time young people spend within 'CU' activities and their age. Whenever students attend activity modules that have a credit rating, registers are taken recording attendance. At the end of the modules the accumulated credits are banked. A bank statement is issued each term to keep students, their families and schools up to date with the progress being made. If students move schools their credits are transferable. An awards ceremony will be held each year at University of Wales Newport to present the major certificated awards.
